Having been short listed to a final three, our organic restaurant scooped first prize in The Taste of Cumbria section at Cumbria Tourisms 2008 awards ceremony on 13th May.

Paul McCartney may be going through a pretty tough time at the moment, but wearing the Village Bakery’s oven mitt for protection, he definitely won’t get his fingers burnt again! Yes, Macca himself turned up at court to battle it out with former wife Heather Mills McCartney. Dressed impeccably in a grey suit, crisp white shirt and black tie, stylishly accessorised with a Village Bakery oven mitt! |

At the glittering Great Taste Awards ceremony this year, The Village Bakery’s Organic Chocolate and Almond Cake won the Great Taste Award for the North West. The scrumptious cake was also given a three star gold award, which only 46 of the 4,500 entries were awarded – an impressive mark from the expert panel.
The Village Bakery’s award winning Luxury Organic Chocolate and Almond Cake is made using sumptuous Green and Black’s Organic Dark Chocolate and is made without wheat and gluten. Baked using natural processes and artisan methods, the cake is baked with respect for the environment in ovens using renewable energy. |
